Saint Barbara’s Day was celebrated by the Christian Formation children  in the upper Parish Hall on December 4.  Several parents were present.  The children  arrived in wonderful costumes from scary to beautiful.First, all sang together the hymn of the church and Father Germanos introduced the feast.

This was followed by the oldest group,”St. John’s” group, telling the story of Saint Barbara and distributing to all grain of wheat on cotton.”St. George’s” group told about Saint Barbara and her martyrdom. The group o12342581_10156411742435454_7614732891151759984_nf “St. Nicholas” presented a dramatization of the story while the youngest group, our “Birds of Paradise”,  paraded in lovely costumes receiving big applause.All were then served delicious  warm “ammah”.Goodies were thrown in the air and at the end of the celebration, the  children received a goodie bag with a St. Barbara bookmark.
